Signing In with Google or Microsoft

You can sign in to Uncog AI with your Google or Microsoft account instead of a password. It only signs you in: it does not give Uncog AI access to your email or calendar. That is a separate step (see Connecting a Mailbox).

Sign in or sign up

  1. On Log In or Sign Up, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft.
  2. Pick your account on the Google or Microsoft screen.

If no Uncog AI login uses that email address yet, one is created for you, and you go on to name your account. Your address is already confirmed, so there is no confirmation email.

If you already have a login with that email address, the Google or Microsoft account is connected to it and you are signed in. Next time, either way of signing in works.

The way you signed in last time is marked Last used on Log In and on invitation pages.

You can also join a business you were invited to this way: open the invitation link and choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft. The account must use the address the invitation was sent to.

When it doesn't work

  • Google or Microsoft didn't confirm the email address. Some work Microsoft accounts don't tell Uncog AI that their email address is verified. Sign in with your email and password instead.
  • Your login is already connected to a different Google (or Microsoft) account. Each login can have one Google and one Microsoft account. Sign in with the one already connected, or disconnect it first in Profile → Sign-in Methods.
  • Sign-in was cancelled or the link expired. Start again from Log In.

Manage how you sign in

Go to Profile → Sign-in Methods. Profile is in the menu at the bottom of the sidebar. Everyone can use this page, whatever their role.

  • Connect a Google or Microsoft account to your login. It can use a different email address from your login.
  • Disconnect one you no longer want. You can't disconnect your only way to sign in — set a password or connect another account first.
  • Password: choose Email Me a Link to set a password (or change it). Setting it signs you out everywhere.
  • Your Name: correct your first and last name. If you signed up with Google or Microsoft and they didn't share your name, it was taken from your email address.

Good to know

  • Signing in with Google or Microsoft shares only your account id, email address and name with Uncog AI. No Google or Microsoft access is kept.
  • If someone else signed up with your email address and never confirmed it, signing in with Google or Microsoft takes the login back: their password is removed and they are signed out.
